Franchisees sell for many reasons; my top twelve

Here are the top twelve circumstances under which you might consider selling your franchise:

When…
  1. you are contemplating the re-investment expense and effort of remodeling/re-location
  2. you are in a crisis situation (ill health, divorce, partnership split, financial)
  3. you are burned out and you and the Franchisor have had enough of each other, like Quizno's today
  4. employee/management problems are increasing your stress level
  5. you need to diversify and spread your business risk
  6. you have an audit/compliance problem and it is getting to you
  7. your life partner wants you to slow down and have more fun. Working 7 days a week is getting  to be a pain
  8. your grown kids want nothing to do with Franchising, they do not want your franchise and you want to retire
  9. sales start to decline, competition is too close and eroding your market share and cash flow; or your debt structure is bleeding your ability to live comfortably
  10. you cannot expand further with the franchise brand, and want to sell in a seller’s market, like Subway today
  11. your friends are diversifying into other brands like Extreme Pita and applying their business skill set in a friendlier franchisee-franchisor atmosphere
  12. you want to cash out and get into something easier (no nights/weekends)

If you can identify with any one or more of these twelve reasons and want to explore the possibilities of selling your Franchise store, call me. I have been advising franchisees and business owners for years and know exactly how you feel; and I have also found many other business opportunities out there where you can use your skill set and business acumen.  If you can’t find them, let me help you in the search and in achieving your new goals.
