As the licensed Area Developer for the Extreme Pita Franchise for Los Angeles County, California, I practice what I preach

I help potential franchisees get into this fabulous new opportunity under my guidance. It may not be for everyone though, and my screening criteria is designed to allow franchisees protected territorial rights to operate multiple stores in my area. I assist with site selection, lease negotiations, construction, equipment ordering and placement, initial training and start up, as well as ongoing marketing and operational guidance. Currently there are over 15 franchises sold in California; the company has been operational in Canada for 11 years and boasts over 247 franchisees in the Extreme Pita system, with over 25 in USA and growing every week (soon to be 46 US franchise locations by Dec 2009)

Extreme Pita has great healthy food, cooked with a sizzle in front of you. Our extensive menu provides Pita Pockets, Pita Pizzas, delicious Chef inspired Salads, and side orders of Pita chips with Mediterranean dips like Hummus and Tzatziki. Plenty of Catering opportunities too.

You need a food court location, or 1200 sq ft in a strip center, with plenty of visibility, parking, and a 1-2 mile population support base of about 30,000 people comprised of both residential and daytime workers.

What prospective franchisees need to do:

First you need to study the opportunity carefully and start asking questions; then submit your application and set up a face to face or telephone meeting with Fayaz Karim or an Area Developer if he/she is close by, or call Head Office for a telephone Q&A.

You need to pass one or two interviews, attend training, pass some tests, and you must have the financial wherewithal to operate their franchise system as directed, which includes a Grand Opening budget, Local Store Marketing efforts and more. The Franchise fee is $20,000(or $45,000 for a multi store package of 3) and the total investment is about $200,000 - $240,000, with an ongoing 6% royalty(can be less in some cases) and 3% advertising fee.

To qualify you need to have very good credit, about $100-120,000 cash, a net worth of $250,000, display proficiency in basic Math and English, and have a drive and vision for success.

If you believe you can operate a Subshop(S), Quizno's(Q) or Blimpies(B), a Pizza store(P), then you should consider an Extreme Pita Franchise.

You must operate your own store or if you have a partner, one of you should be there. There are multi-unit and Area Developer opportunities all over the US.
